Why I'm Calling This Sixty, Unsettled
The name is the whole premise, so it's worth explaining before anything else.
I'm turning 60 this December, and I've realized I never decided anything about retirement. Not where, not how, not really even whether the version of it I'd always pictured still made sense once I looked at it straight on. So this project is me deciding, on camera, in writing, in a spreadsheet, instead of just talking about deciding someday.
The name does most of the explaining. "Sixty" is the age, and more usefully, it's the gift of the time that comes with it. A chapter ending and one beginning at once, which is also why the logo mark is a sunrise and a sunset drawn as the same shape. "Unsettled" is carrying two meanings on purpose: not settled down yet, and the questions that are still genuinely open. Which city. Which country. What the day-to-day looks like once the research turns into a life instead of a plan.
Plan It. Live It. Decide. is the shape of the whole thing. Figure out the plan, go live inside it long enough to find out if it's real, then decide. In that order, no skipping to the end.
What this isn't
It isn't a highlight reel, and it isn't influencer content dressed up as documentation. If a choice ever comes down to what's more honest versus what performs better, honest wins. That's the filter for everything here, down to the thumbnails. I'm not sponsored, I'm not chasing what does well, and I'm not AI. This is my own unresolved decision, not a script.
Where it stands right now
There's a shortlist of candidate cities in each of the three countries. It comes from places I've already spent time and the research I've done so far, and I'm not pretending it doesn't exist. But I'm not naming those shortlists or picking from them here. That happens in the videos, one country at a time. Thailand goes first, since its research is furthest along, and its shortlist is already public anyway, the five cities the Numbers Kit covers. Vietnam and the Philippines follow once their research catches up. As each decision video goes up, this is where the outcome gets recorded.
Everything I learn along the way, the real numbers, not the ranges, is turning into something usable for anyone doing this same search. That's where the guides come from.
